Streptomycin: the first-choice treatment against leptospirosis.

USE

Streptomic is an injectable antibiotic made of streptomycin of fast and effective bactericidal action, especially in the treatment of infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria. It is the election treatment in leptospirosis and campylobacteriosis.

COMPOSITION

Each vial contains:
Basic Streptomycin 5g
Diluent vials: injectable water 15ml

POSOLOGY AND DIRECTIONS

For leptospirosis, an only dose of 25mg/kg of corporal weight is indicated (1,5ml/20kg of corporal weight). The usual dosage is 10mg/kg of corporal weight (0,6ml/20kg of corporal weight).

For all the species:
Repeat the application in 12 to 24 hour-period. Continue the treatment for 24 to 48 hours, after the symptoms have disappeared. In the vibriosis treatment: in bulls (Campylobacter fetus spp venerealis), dilute a vial of 5g in 90ml of oily vehicle (liquid Vaseline) and insert it in the preputial cavity on a daily basis for a period of 3 consecutive days, with an external 5-minute massage application.
