Combination of Benzilpenicillin and streptomycin.

USE
Septipen is an injectable antibiotic of broad spectrum, made of penicillins associated with Streptomycin and use to combat infections caused by gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, which are sensitive to that combination. Potassium Benzylpenicillin provides high therapeutic concentrations in the first hours after the administration. Procaine Benzylpenicillin and Benzatin Benzylpenicillin are of slow absorption and sustain the therapeutic levels for a long period. Streptomycin acts sinergically with the penicillin, optimizing the product’s effect.

COMPOSITION
Each vial contains:
Benzylpenicillin Benzatin 3,000,000UI
Potassium Benzylpenicillin 1,500,000UI
Procaine Benzylpenicillin 1,500,000UI
Streptomycin sulfate 2g
Diluent vial: Injectable water 15ml

POSOLOGY AND DIRECTION
The recommended dose is from 1 to 1,5ml to each 30 to 40kg of corporal weight. Apply through deep intramuscular way. With the help of a syringe, remove the diluent from the vial and inject it in the vial containing the powder. Shake it vigorously until you obtain a uniform substance. Continue the treatment for 24 to 48 hours after the symptoms have disappeared.
